A little community outside of Winston-Salem, Walkertown is located in Forsyth County, North Carolina, in the United States. It is a component of the Piedmont Triad.

The 2020 census revealed a population of 5,695 in Walkertown. It ranks as the 5964th largest city in the US and the 144th largest in North Carolina.

The population of Walkertown has grown by 3.58% from the most recent census, which showed there were 5,692 residents in 2020, and is presently rising at a pace of 1.76% yearly. Walkertown spans more than 7 miles and has 881 inhabitants per square mile.

Walkertown was given its name in honor of Dr. Robert Walker, who had been residing there by 1771.

Walker relocated to the West after leaving the region, although his house stood until the middle of the 20th century. In 1984, the town became incorporated.

The typical household size is 2 to 3 people, as is the family size. Walkertown’s population is 95.93% monolingual in English and 4.07 percent multilingual. Spanish, which is spoken by 3.26% of the population, is the non-English language most commonly used.
